School Days

The kids started school on August 11th. Ty is in fourth grade. Brooke is in 2nd grade. I am finding 4th grade to be an adjustment. Ty's always had homework and this year he has very little. Also, his grades changed. He used to get 1,2,3. 3 was best. Now he's on an A,B,C,F grading scale. It sure is different. I'm sure we'll adjust.
Brooke's doing o.k. I go help on Thursday's in her class. It helps to see what's going on in class. Especially where she needs help at.
Ty is playing baseball again in the fall. He actually made a travel ball team for the spring. They already are practicing and will play a few games this fall. Ty received his first ever fat lip with this team. A coach was pitching to Ty and he couldn't get out of the way. Right in the mouth it hit. Poor guy!!

We are fixing to sign Brooke up for guitar lessons for the fall. She really enjoys playing with musical instruments. We'll see how this goes.
Hunting season starts this weekend. Ty is hunting with a bow this year. Of course, he it gets anything, I'll post it. Pumpkin season is also starting for me this weekend. It's going to be a busy fall. Especially for me with my breast cancer walk just right around the corner.
I think this catches us up to date. Take care!!
Love,
Kati

New Truck

Look at our new truck. It's a toyota Tundra, Crew Max. It has so much room and storage inside. It's a brown color. We sure are liking it.

Spring/Summer update

For Brooke's birthday this year, she had a spa party. The girls had fake hair put in, make-up on their faces, their nails polished. They had such a good time.
For Brooke's gift, we got her a guinea pig. Her name is coco. The kids love this pet.
Since I'm so far behind on my blog, this one is just short and sweet.
Brooke loves cat's so that's what she got on her cake this year.

Brooke played softball again this past spring. She was on the Lady Bulldogs. The had a decent season, but at the end they had a post season tournament. It was awesome. They won!! Finally a trophy we didn't have to pay for. such concentration here.

I don't know how well you can tell, but this picture was the day after Brooke had crashed on a skooter. She had the biggest fat lip I'd ever seen. About 2 weeks later she wrecked again and this time put a hole in her knee. I wasn't able to get pictures of it. She's my clutz.

Ty also played baseball this spring. He played for the maroon bulldogs. They too had a decent season. In the post season tournament they finished second. They also got trophies, however since Brooke won first hers was bigger. Always something. Ty also was selected to play for the all-stars team. This picture was during one of their tournaments. It was so hot he was taking a breather while pitching changes were being made. Because of Ty's baseball we were not able to camp anymore this summer. Once he was finished we stayed home to try and work on home projects.
This pretty much sums up the summer.

Camping

West Point Lake - Holiday Campground

During the first week of April we went camping at West Point lake with Russ and Kim and their family. Also, Joshua and his family. It was a pretty good time but we had quite a bit of rain. We got to the lake Friday afternoon around 3:00. It was pretty windy and you could see a storm brewing. We were able to cook dinner before a tornado warning had gone off. We rushed to the closest bath house to take cover. Thank fully nothing came close. It rained all night and all day saturday until around 3:00 in the afternoon. Josh and katie showed up about that time and was able to put their tent up before it lightly rained again.
Sunday we saw a little bit of sun. I hung everything out to dry and then sunday night it rained again. Come Monday I was ready to go home.
Ty decided he would follow his Uncle Rusty around and fish and was able to catch this nice bass.
Kim and I went to Walmart and bought the kids some ponchos to try and stay a little dry. Here's Brooke and Carrigan.

I love this picture. Brooke and Katie riding on Hunter's new tube. Looks like a sea doo. Brooke had lots of fun on it.

Here is when we went to the bath house to take shelter from a tornado. Kim laughed at me b/c I had my purse and my camera. Never leave home without them.lol Kevin had his notebook so that he could track the storm.

Over all, we had a great time.

Barnum & Bailey Circus

This year we decided to take the kids to the Barnum & Bailey Circus. The last time we went was when Ty was 2 yrs. old. So, basically this was the kids first circus. Oh what fun we had. I loved the circus. Brooke loved the circus. She was soo cute. At one point there was an elephant right in front of us. He was so close, you'd think he was looking right at us. Brooke was waving at the elephant. We had really good seats. We were the second row from the floor. I knew with all the animals Brooke would have a fit. She is my animal lover. I think Ty liked it but being a boy, he doesn't express it like Brooke does. I highly recommend the circus for children that are over 5. We went with my girlfriend,Dana, and her family. In the above picture is her son, Jared. The kids were all given fake noses. Ty wouldn't wear his.

Ty's Birthday

Boy, I sure manage to get behind on my blogs. Let's see If I can't get caught up. Ty's birthday was back on January 21, sadly we were not able to have a party. We had a bowling party scheduled, but mother nature had different plans. It snowed that day and their was no telling if it was going to stick. Sooo, we cancelled the party. We thought we would reschedule but after talking with Ty, we told him if he didn't want a party we would buy him a WII. Of course, he chose the WII. That game system is so much fun. Since we didn't have an actual party I don't have many pictures, but here are a few.
I had make a cake for someone else, so I had made some cupcakes. That was Ty's birthday cake. Not really, we ordered him a cookie cake, but it didn't make it home to take a picture. Everyone ate it in the car on the way home.lol
We also went to dinner at Benihana's. The kids always enjoy the cooking, just not the eating.

SNOW DAY

IT'S JANUARY 17TH. OUR KIDS GOT THEIR FIRST SNOW DAY THIS YEAR. IT'S THE FIRST DECENT ONE IN A FEW YEARS. IF IT'S NEAR TY'S BIRTHDAY, YOU CAN ALMOST COUNT ON EITHER SNOW OR ICE.
WE GOT ABOUT 2 INCHES LAST NIGHT, BUT ONCE IT TURNED OVER TO RAIN IT JUST BECAME A SLUSH LOOKING SNOW. OF COURSE, IT DOESN'T MATTER TO THE KIDS. SNOW IS SNOW.

WE DON'T KEEP SLEDS ON HAND SINCE IT DOESN'T SNOW THAT MUCH, SO I IMPROVISED AND MADE ONE. I TOOK A CARDBOARD BOX AND OPENED IT UP AND PUT IT IN A TRASH BAG. IT WORKED. BROOKE WASN'T REALLY SURE HOW TO DO IT, THOUGH. BUT TY FIGURED IT OUT. I WASN'T ABOUT TO GET OUT THERE TO SHOW THEM. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE HOUSE, BUT THEY WON'T UPLOAD.
THIS IS ALL THAT I'LL PROBABLY GET. BROOKE DOESN'T LIKE IT SOO MUCH. SHE NEVER HAS.
ENJOY!!
LOVE,
KATI

CHRISTMAS HAS COME AND GONE. MY WHERE HAS 2007 GONE? SINCE I HAVE NOT POSTED FOR A WHILE, I MUST HAVE BEEN BUSY IN THE MONTH OF DECEMBER. WE'LL SEE IF I CAN KEEP AN ACCURATE UPDATE.
KEVIN WENT HUNTING IN KANSAS AND RETURNED IN EARLY DECEMBER. I GUESS HIM BEING GONE IS WHY OUR MONTH WENT SO FAST. WE WERE LATE TO PUT UP DECORATIONS AND A CHRISTMAS TREE. NORMALY WE HAVE A MONTH TO ENJOY EVERYTHING BUT THIS YEAR WE HAD MAYBE 2 1/2-3 WEEKS OF ENJOYMENT.

WE HAD OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS PARTY WITH THE BLACK'S ON DEC.16TH. WE HAD A WONDERFUL DINNER AND DESSERTS. ALL THE KIDS COULDN'T WAIT TO OPEN GIFTS. I THINK ALL THE KIDS ENJOYED THEIR GIFTS.

NEXT WE HAD CHRISTMAS AT MY MOM'S HOUSE ON THE 16TH. AGAIN THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD. GIFT OPENING ALSO WENT SMOOTHLY. AFTER THIS PARTY WE WERE ABLE TO STAY HOME FOR A WHILE. WHICH WAS NICE SINCE HE HADN'T DONE IT MUCH MOST OF THE PAST 3 MONTHS. ON CHRISTMAS EVE, MOM AND TIM CAME UP TO SPIN THE NIGHT. THE KIDS LOVE HAVING GRANDMA AND PAPA COME UP. WE HAD A LOVELY MORNING WITH AND EXCELLENT BREAKFAST. MOM TAUGHT ME HOW TO MAKE OMELETS. SURE WERE GOOD. AFTER THEY LEFT WE JUST HUNG OUT.HERE ARE A FEW PICTURES FROM THAT MORNING. TY'S BIG GIFT WAS AN AQUARUIM. HE ALSO ENJOYED THIS FOOTBALL JERSEY.

BROOKE GOT A BARBIE DOLL HOUSE. IT'S THE SAME HEIGHT AS SHE IS.

THAT'S ABOUT IT FOR CHRISTMAS. WE STAYED HOME FOR NEW YEAR'S. TY TRIED TO STAY UP, BUT AT 11:40 HE FELL ASLEEP. WE WOKE HIM UP AS THE BALL DROPPED AND THEN BACK TO SLEEP HE WENT. BROOKE CRASHED ABOUT 10:30.
HOPE EVERY HAD A GOOD NEW YEAR'S.
